Run Defrag from the command line

In WindowsXP you can run the defrag program from the command line. One of the reasons you will want to use the command line in stead of the GUI is that the GUI takes up a lot to resources.

The command line parameters are:
defrag [-a] [-f] [-v] [-?]
volume drive letter or mount point (d: or d:\vol\mountpoint)
-a Analyze only
-f Force defragmentation even if free space is low
-v Verbose output
